TDIC Projects

My partner Salem and I researched emirates pearl. You can see our PowerPoint about its best features embedded below including sound, videos and pictures. Also there is a video link about the emirate pearl that you can see below.

The project I liked the most was Abu Dhabi Creek Business Resort because the location is on Abu Dhabi Creek separated from mainland. The resort will have 369 guest rooms, conference meeting facilities, garden area and range of restaurants. I liked how they described the central pool around the hotel complex and I hope to see there luxurious residential villas.

The least interesting project was desert islands since the 6 nearby offshore outcrops will be linked by ferry, because I don’t prefer traveling by boat. I really don’t care that much for animals and the desert. During the summer it could get just a little bit too hot for children. Also the idea of floating restaurants does not amuse me. If a family has a lot of children, they would prefer having a few play grounds around to keep them busy.

As money accumulates, technology will grow. When businesses perspire, are they keeping global warming in mind? A countries growth is very important for the people and also we must think how this will affect our future.

Cool City Comments

Good adaptations

One of the good benefits of the cool city is the canal. They of course have taken into consideration the wind and the fumes from boats just cause a whole lot of Co2 and air pollution in the air so they are trying to utilize energy. Maybe another good result is the abundance of trees and water. This helps keep fresh clean air around us. Another good and helpful consideration is the transportation terminal complexes. The many different ways transportation has been made convenient to save energy reduces so much pollution and Co2 in the air.

Bad adaptations

It might be a bad benefit using solar powered plant farms because plants need a lot of energy which the sun gives directly to them. Maybe another bad factor is the greenery scene. Some people want the sun, sand and tan. They don’t appreciate saving energy. It might also be impractical thinking the business section is making a considerable amount of money, by going solar and all green just maybe they are losing money profits.

"My Carbon Footprint" – "Problems & Solutions"

A carbon footprint is a total of all emissions of greenhouse gases produced like carbon dioxide, which were measured by the impact human activities have on the environment. I calculated my footprint at the http://footprint.wwf.org.uk/ website and got score 2.09 and that is as I am living as if there is 2.09 earths.

I realized that I could do a lot more than I do to help out in the world. I do consume a lot of electricity and use the air-conditioner and lights an awful a lot. Second of all, I feel I should really try eating healthier and be on a better diet of foods.
Third, I could do my part to make more space at home and be
cleaner.

I have a habit of leaving electricity swishes on stand by all the time. My computer, the T.V. and the even my Sony. I have made a lot of reductions. I hope because I never have a room without switching off any appliances I have been using. I always make sure not to download at night or overload on electricity. Second I need to start trying dome fresh fruits and eating a variety of fresh vegetables in my diet. I y to eat a little more fish because I really like fish. I will cut down on any lambor or beef products. Third I'm making more space in my house. I'm rearranging things and getting rid of useless things, like old papers, boxes and junk. I always make sure to clean after myself and not leave needless trash around the floor.

To conclude, everyone can take a step toward making our world a better place to live and cleaner. It is not that thought to help save energy and cut down on pollution.

"An Inconvenient Truth" - Summary

In the movie “An Inconvenient truth” Which produced in 2006, Al Gore is the former vice president of the US presents. He is trying to inform people all over the world about global warming and how it's definitely shifting it. The earth is changing its form and its poisons both. It has once more been taken for granted that our world will stay as it is since people assume world isn't impartial.

Our ecological composition is changing. Glaciers are splitting apart rapidly that people will stop depending on springs. This caused there to be more storms, hurricanes, typhoons and tornadoes. The lakes are drying up because the moisture is evaporating. Even our seasons are being greatly effected. Our climate pattern is changing and the arctic is ace cap is being diminished. Take for instance when he explained how the Larsen ice shelf just disappeared and Greenland is melting. He gives proof that scientist and the government has actually lied to people about global warming. He wants people all over the world to understand this is a big issue and if they know about it now they can participate in saving our great world.

People can make the world more efficient by saving energy and cutting down pollution. People must take their part in stopping pollution and rising CO2 concentration because every year it is getting warmer and warmer and temperature rapidly increasing, the ocean is also getting warmer. People are ignoring each time, all over the world just how much worse they are becoming and more disastrous each time. He says we must see our mistakes and see the significance in what is going on around us. He insists we must take measures for our future generation and think about our children future.

To conclude, nowadays the government and people are trying to do more to help in global warming. If every one works together, there will be improvement.

"An Inconvenient Truth” - Evaluation

In the movie “An Inconvenient truth” Which produced in 2006, Al Gore I think it's so nice to see Al Gore dedicated to what he has believed all his life. He might be one man, but he has traveled far and wide for this voice to be heard on global warming.

People need to be informed about global warming so they may participate and do their part in saving our vast growing populated world. Most people don't want to deal with what's going on around them, but sometimes they must think about their children and grandchildren. I'm a very firm believer that all people can take part in keeping our world clean and safe.

Al Gore is one man just trying to get people to face the facts that global warming is changing our world and we can help. We're trying to cut down on energy by solar lights, being more efficient with electricity and transportation. I feel all people need to step up and do their part. I think people got a better objective by seeing his speech, because I most certainly did. He presents detailed graphs to inform us of this catastrophe happening in our world.

My Life Story

My name is Sanad Saleh Saeed Al-Ameri. I'm now attending the Higher College of technology. I'm in my second year of studying. I just turned 19 years old and recently got my driver license. I don't have my own car, but fortunately my father lets me drive his black cruiser sometimes. My big brother Salem goes to college with me and is also in class with me. We aren't twins, but it sure does feel that way. We study together and hang out together all the time. Our friends are the same and he and I get along terrifically. I could never ask for a better brother. I also have 4 sisters. They're all great and behaved. My father's name is Saleh and he's Emirati. He works as a financial manager at the water and electricity department. My mother is from America. She has been in the Emirates for 20 years and is a housewife.

I have some favorite hobbies. I really enjoy playing Counter Strike: Source (css) with my brother and friends. I have met many new friends through this game. I have been playing this computer game for over 7 years. As a child I played Play station 2 for quite a while, and still manage to play it every so often, but now I love css. I also enjoy playing soccer and skating and enjoy playing cards with my family on the weekends. I don't go out an awful lot, but sometimes to the mall with my family or friends

I'm not a person who likes going to weddings and parties or even invitation. But a lot of time my father forces me to go, because he says it's good to get out and around once in a while so I go because I like to please my father. I always like to see my family happy. Everyone says I have a big heart and I'm a pretty nice guy. I'm also easy to get along with. I'm currently living in Bani Yas on street 6.

I hope to get married soon, because I want to marry at an early age. I think it's good to have woman in your life because once you are married she will take care of you and make you feel like a man with responsibility.

Every summer vacation it is a family tradition to go to Oman. I enjoy the relaxation, fun and the games at the carnivals they're there every year. But the beach upsets me because during the summer the waves are also so high that you can't really enjoy the beach that much. I think you should always have a barbeque on a picnic. I don't care for rice that much, I'm more on sandwiches. I'm studying English, math and civil at the moment. I'm studying to be a mechanical engineer. I hope this year to travel somewhere different than Oman and adventure a little bit. I feel sometimes change is for better.
